In a previous post, I explained how to do two needle right angle weave. Today I will be illustrating how to increase or decrease rows in order to form different shapes. I hope it will be useful.
You can increase and decrease rows either within the row or at the end.

When we increase or decrease within the row, we gain or lose just one RAW
unit.
However, when we increase or decrease at both ends, then we gain or
lose two RAW units.
To
increase within the row
·
When we get to the position where we want to add a new
RAW unit, Rather than pick up one bead with the right thread and cross with the
second bead,
·
We pick two beads and cross with a third bead like
this;
Continue regular weaving till the end of the row.
·
Begin another row and when you get to the position
where you have the two extra top beads in the previous row, work a separate RAW
unit off of each of the top beads.
To
increase at the edges
·
Pick up four beads with the outer thread and pass that
same thread through the first bead
·
Continue matting as usual until you get to the other
end:
·
At the other end, pick two beads with the outer thread
and pick one with the inner thread and cross through that:
·
Again, pick two beads with the outer thread and pick
one with the inner thread and cross through that.
·
If you want to increase just a single row, then
decrease the next row.
To decrease
within the row
·
When you get to the
position where we want to decrease, you simply pass your left thread through
two adjacent beads instead of one.
·
Continue weaving as usual.
To decrease
at the edges
·
After finishing a row, pass
your threads back through beads as shown by the yellow line. Then continue
matting
Thanks for sharing the great information.
