30 beads beaded ball

The 30 beads beaded ball can be used as a pendant, earrings or strung to make necklace. It can be made with any bead size or shape but it is advisable for a beginner to first practice with fairly big beads.

The ball is basically made in three rounds. 5 beads for 1st round, 15beads for 2nd and 10beads for the 3rd round.  I have used different coloured bead to make it easier to follow.

Materials
1. Any bead size or shape.
2. Thread of your choice
3. Two beading needles

Let's start:)

1st round

1. Cut about 30 inches of thread and thread two needles unto both ends

2. Pick 5 beads with you right needle, push them to the center and tie both threads.

3. Pass the left needle through the last bead.

2nd Round

1. Pick up four beads with your right needle and cross the left needle through the fourth bead in opposite direction.

2. Pass your left needle through the next bead of round one to your left and pick up three beads with your right needle.

3. Now cross your left needle through the 3rd bead just picked and pull snug.

4. Repeat step 2 above till your left needle has gone through four out of the five round one beads. This will give you a total of five circles ( I.e one round one circle and four round 2 circles).  See the pictures below:

4. To make the fifth circle (last circle for round 2), instead of passing your left needle through only the last round one bead, you pass the needle through that bead and the first bead of round 2

Your threads should be coming out through the first and last bead of round 2 like this:

5. Now pick just 2 beads with your right needle and cross the left needle through the 2nd bead

3rd round

1. Pass the left bead though the next bead to your left.

 2. Pick 3 beads with your right needle and cross the left needle through the 3rd bead to form the 1st circle of round 3.

3. Pass your left thread through the next two beads of round two.

4. Now pick up two beads with your right needle, cross the left needle through the 2nd bead and pass your left needle through the next beads of round two.

5. Repeat step 4 above two more times till you have a total of four circles for this round. See photos below:

6. To make the last circle, you will pass your left needle through three beads ( the last two round2 beads + the 1st round three bead)

Your threads should be coming out through the first and last bead of round 3 like this:

7. Now pick up just one bead and cross the other needle through it

8. The final step is to simply pass your needle through the top five beads to connect them, tie a knot and pass your needle back through your work before cutting.

And that's it. The 30 beads beaded ball is quick to make once you get the hang of it. You can mix up bead shapes and sizes to get different looks as you can see in my first picture.

Happy beading :)
