Right angle weave millipede beaded necklace or bracelet

right angle weave beaded necklace

The Right angle weave, also called bead matting technique is a very easy to learn bead weaving technique and can be used to make different beaded designs. 

This necklace is made using this technique to make the frame work and some seed beads are added. It is easy and quick to make. Hope you enjoy it. 
What you will need

1. 8mm rondelle crystal beads or pearls
2. 11/o seed beads
3. 0.3mm Monofilament thread/Fishing line
4. Jump rings
5. Clasps







Procedure:

1. Pick 4 seed beads + 1 jump ring + another 4 seed beads  

2. Pick one 8mm rondelle crystal and cross the needle through it.


Pass your needles back through the seed beads to reinforce them


Weave right angle weave (matting) till you get to your desired length by:

3. Pick one rondelle crystal with each needle and cross through a third  rondelle crystal till you get to your desired length.

4. At the other end, pick 4 seed bead + a jump ring + another 4 seed beads like we did in step 1 and cross your needles through those seeds beads in opposite directions. 


5. Cross back through the last rondelle crystal. 



6. Pick 20 seed beads with each needle, skip one of the middle rondelle crystals and pass through the third one.




6. Keep picking 20 seed beads with each needle and skipping one middle rondelle crystal till you get to the end. 






Pass your needle through the first seed bead of the other needle like this:





















7. To begin the second layer,  cross your needle through the last bead like this:



 8. Pick 20 seed beads with each needle and pass through the middle rondelle bead (The ones encased by the seed beads of the first layer.)



Make sure the needle goes under the seed beads from first layer and comes out over the seed beads on the other side.




 9. Continue repeating step 8 till you get to the other end.





10. Weave your thread back through the RAW framework. Tie several knots.

 Add your clasps and you are done :)
